CPS Upgrade 2025 FAQs

  • What’s new?

CPS is getting an overhaul! Here is a quick summary of what's changing:

    New membership plans
Silver, Gold, and Cinema membership plans will be replaced with Starter, Standard, and Premium - designed to make the program more inclusive and easier to understand. Existing members will be transitioned to an equivalent plan at no change in price. You will also be able to choose whether you prefer an Individual or Team membership type.

You’ll get the same great support you’ve come to expect from CPS - just with more flexibility and control. Core benefits like repairs, sensor cleans, and equipment loans will still be available.

    Improved online experience.
The new CPS Portal lets you manage your membership online. You can book and track services, request loans and manage your gear, all in one place, anytime.

    Points system
We will introduce a new points system to give you more choice. You decide how to use your benefits - whether that’s for sensor cleans, managing your supported gear, or trying out new equipment.

    Updated Terms & Conditions
We are updating our Terms and Conditions which will be shared with CPS members in October 2025.

    Expanded Eligibility
From March 2026 CPS memberships will be available to all customers, over 18, who own an eligible Canon product and have a valid ABN (Australia) or NZBN (New Zealand).

  • How is eligibility affected?

CPS membership will only require one eligible Canon product to get started, making it easier than ever to join.

  • What happens to current CPS Silver, Gold, or Cinema members?

You’ll be automatically migrated to the new Starter, Standard, or Premium plans at no additional cost.
Based on the size of your team, you’ll also be placed into an Individual or Team plan, giving you more flexibility and a plan tailored to your specific needs.

  • Have there been any changes to repairs?

No, CPS will continue to provide repair loans while your gear is being serviced at the Camera Repairs workshop.

  • Are there any changes to pricing?

No, existing members will be moved to a plan at the same price as their current one.

  • Is there a minimum product ownership requirement to join?

From March 2026, CPS memberships will be available to all customers who own an eligible Canon product and have a valid ABN (Australia) or NZBN (New Zealand).

  • Do I need to verify my identity to access certain services?

Yes. Under the new system, identity verification through GreenID will be required before requesting equipment loans.

  • How will CPS services be impacted?

During the transition evaluation loans will be limited, but in 2026 you will still receive the same great support you have come to expect from CPS.

  • Can I pay monthly instead of annually?

Yes. You can choose between monthly or annual payments for any plan. Annual plans offer the best value.
